Cardiology
Cardiology (greek. kardía - heart and. lógos - word, study), division of medicine, dealing with structure, function, heart and vessels diseases, reasons for diseases occurrence, development mechanisms, clinical presentations, diagnostic. Apart from that, cardiology observes methods of treatment, preventive measures, medical rehabilitation of the patients with cardio-vascular system injures. According to WHO, in developed countries diseases of heart and vessels are leaders among diseases causing death.
Cardio vascular system diseases include ischemic heart disease, hypertonic disease, cerebra vascular diseases and other disorders. In majority of cases, clinical presentations of the ischemic heart disease are characterized by coronary artery as a result of atherosclerosis. It is commonly known, that several factors influence the coronary atherosclerosis occurrence: heredity, fat rich food consumption, high arterial pressure, smoking, exercise stress. Unfavorable conditions at working place are the so called “classic “reasons for the ischemic heart diseases occurrence. Work in stress influences directly upon the neurohormonal activity as well as on heart metabolism.
Part of these diseases in the death-rate structure consists 40-60% with disease rate increase and effecting of young people taking place. All this makes the problem of cardio vascular system the core problem of the medico-social aspect of the WHO.
The pathology of heart is a bright example of how the terms of addressing to cardiologist, well-timed diagnostic and beginning of an adequate treatment influence on course and outcome of the disease.
